Access to physician-supervised weight loss care has historically been uneven — concentrated in larger cities, expensive, and time-consuming. Telehealth has changed that. If you're in Alabama or Georgia, you can now complete a full medical evaluation online and, if approved, have GLP-1 medication shipped directly to your home.

Who Southern Vitality Serves

Southern Vitality Weight Loss is based in Valdosta, Georgia and serves patients throughout Alabama, Georgia, and Florida via telehealth. Our medical director, Igor Ancor, MD, is a licensed physician who personally reviews every patient application.

Whether you're in Birmingham, Montgomery, Huntsville, Mobile, Atlanta, Savannah, Columbus, or a smaller community, the process is the same: complete your intake online, get physician review, and receive your medication at home.

How Telehealth Weight Loss Works

The entire process is designed to work without an in-person visit:

  1. Online intake (10 minutes). You answer questions about your health history, current medications, weight history, and goals. This gives your physician the information needed to evaluate your candidacy.
  2. Physician review. A licensed physician reviews your intake — not an AI, not a questionnaire algorithm. If your application is approved, a prescription is written. If there are questions, the provider follows up directly.
  3. Prescription filled at a state-licensed pharmacy. If prescribed, your medication is compounded for you by Rx Compounding Store, a state-licensed pharmacy, and shipped to your address. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved or reviewed by FDA for safety, effectiveness, or quality.
  4. Ongoing support. Your care doesn't stop at approval. Southern Vitality provides ongoing check-ins and dose adjustments as your treatment progresses.

Why Physician Supervision Matters

GLP-1 medications are prescription drugs — they require a licensed physician to evaluate you individually before prescribing. This isn't red tape; it's protection. Semaglutide and tirzepatide have real contraindications and interactions that need to be screened. A physician also adjusts your dose over time based on how you respond, which significantly affects both safety and results.

Be cautious of programs that offer "guaranteed approval" or skip physician review. These are red flags.

What Medications Are Available?

Southern Vitality offers both:

  • Compounded semaglutide — may be prescribed following an individual physician evaluation and compounded for you by Rx Compounding Store, a state-licensed pharmacy
  • Compounded tirzepatide — may be prescribed following an individual physician evaluation and compounded for you by Rx Compounding Store, a state-licensed pharmacy

Compounded medications are not FDA-approved, are not reviewed by FDA for safety, effectiveness, or quality, and are not FDA-approved generic versions of brand-name drugs. They should not be treated as equivalent to FDA-approved brand-name products.

Your physician recommends the appropriate medication based on your health profile, goals, and medical history.

Telehealth in Alabama: What to Know

Alabama has robust telehealth infrastructure, and licensed physicians can prescribe medications — including compounded semaglutide — to Alabama residents following a proper evaluation. There is no requirement for an in-person visit to establish the prescriber-patient relationship for most telehealth programs.

Patients in Huntsville, Birmingham, Montgomery, Mobile, Tuscaloosa, and surrounding areas can complete the full process from home.

Telehealth in Georgia: What to Know

Southern Vitality's home base is Valdosta, Georgia — giving us particular familiarity with patients across South Georgia, including Valdosta, Tifton, Douglas, Waycross, and the Augusta and Savannah areas. Our telehealth program extends to all of Georgia.

Patients near Atlanta, Macon, Columbus, and Albany can complete intake online and receive medication at home, just like any other patient in our program.

How Much Does It Cost?

Southern Vitality's compounded semaglutide starts at a $79 monthly equivalent ($948 paid upfront for 12 months), and compounded tirzepatide starts at a $120 monthly equivalent ($1,440 paid upfront for 12 months). These are monthly equivalents, not monthly billing: the full 12-month amount is paid upfront and does not automatically renew. A physician must evaluate you before prescribing.

Separately, brand-name retail pricing without insurance can exceed $1,300 per month for Wegovy. Brand-name retail prices are not Southern Vitality program prices.
